Technique: ​Eye Liner

After applying your eyeshadow it is time to use the eyeliner. You may wish to carefully and slightly pull the eye taut in order to make a straight line along the upper lid. The easiest way to make a straight line is to make a lot of short lines connected together rather than trying to make one long line. You may choose to partially or fully line the eyes, depending on the size and shape of your eye and what the current style is - it is always changing, but usually will be one of three looks:

Line the upper lid ¾ of the way across on the top and ½ the way across on the bottom.

Line the entire eye from inner to outer corner on both the top and bottom.

Just line the top lid – this is great with a neutral eyeshadow and red lipstick for an Audrey Hepburn-type look.
