Technique: Mascara

Using a lash curler will help even the eyelashes and add some pizzazz. Be sure to curl the lashes before applying mascara and never after. There are a variety of different types of mascara to choose from depending on your lashes and the look you want.

Lengthening Mascara

A lengthening mascara makes your lashes appear longer. This type of mascara typically contains fibers that actually extend your lashes making them visibly longer.

Thickening Mascara

A thickening mascara or volumizing mascara will make thin lashes appear thicker and fuller.

Proper use and care of your Mascara

Never pump your mascara brush in and out of the mascara. This pushes air and bacteria into your mascara tube. Dip the brush in the mascara and twirl gently. Your mascara should be replaced every six to eight weeks.

Proper Application of Mascara

Be sure to apply mascara to the top of the upper lashes, then the underside of the upper lashes with a gentle jiggling motion upward and outward. The bottom lashes may be colored carefully with the tip of the mascara wand for greater control and precision.
