Is L'Oreal Visible Lift Discontinued? Your Shade-by-Shade Guide

Partly. As of October 23, 2026, L'Oreal Paris USA still sells Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup on its own website, in 12 shades.[1] Some older Visible Lift foundations are discontinued. FDA drug-listing records show L'Oreal ended marketing of Repair Absolute Makeup (SPF 16) in 2018 and Blur Foundation (SPF 18) in 2020.[3] Line-Minimizing Makeup is no longer on L'Oreal's site.[2] Amazon lists the Serum Absolute powder as discontinued by the manufacturer.[4] The Visible Lift concealers are no longer on L'Oreal's site and are hard to find.[2] We carry authentic, sealed stock of several Visible Lift shades, listed below by name and number.

If you've worn Visible Lift for years and suddenly can't find it, you're not imagining things. Shoppers have been asking the same question on L'Oreal's own product page and on Reddit all year.[5] Part of the confusion is that "Visible Lift" was never one product. It was a family of foundations, powders and concealers, and they haven't all met the same fate.

The short answer, product by product

Visible Lift product Status (as of Oct 23, 2026)
Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup Still sold by L'Oreal Paris USA[1][3]
Repair Absolute Rapid Age-Reversing Makeup, SPF 16 Discontinued. FDA listing shows marketing ended Jan. 25, 2018[3]
Line-Minimizing Makeup No longer on L'Oreal's site[2]
Blur Foundation, SPF 18 Discontinued. FDA listing shows marketing ended May 31, 2020[3]
Serum Absolute Age-Reversing Powder Amazon lists it as discontinued by the manufacturer[4]
Serum Absolute Concealer and Line-Minimizing Concealer No longer on L'Oreal's site; hard to find[2]

Why FDA records? Foundations with SPF are sold as over-the-counter sunscreen drugs in the US, so the maker has to list them with the FDA. When a product stops being made, that listing records the date marketing ended. It's not a press release, but it is L'Oreal's own filing.[3]

For the other Visible Lift products in this guide, we go by what's on L'Oreal's site and what retailers show.

Why you can't find Visible Lift in stores

Drugstores clear shelf space for whatever a brand is making now. Once a product is discontinued, store stock runs out and doesn't come back. Online, you'll mostly find marketplace sellers, often at well above the original price.[4]

Even the shade that's still made, Serum Absolute, isn't on every shelf. One shopper wrote on L'Oreal's page in October 2026 that she "can't seem to find it on the shelf anymore".[5] If you love Serum Absolute, it's still worth checking L'Oreal's site.

Line-Minimizing Makeup

We're out of Line-Minimizing Makeup right now. Check the Line-Minimizing page or ask us to look for your shade (see below).

Can't see your shade?

Many of you search for Visible Lift by number: 143, 146 or 147, for example. We don't have those in stock right now. (We've carried 143, Serum Absolute Soft Ivory, before.)

Every product page has a Request this shade form. Tell us the product and shade, and in our words, "we'll check our shelves and suppliers, then email you." We can't promise to find every shade, because some are simply gone. But we do look, and we'll let you know either way.

How to match your Visible Lift shade

Look at the bottom or back of your old bottle for the shade name and number. Then match both the product and the number:

  1. Product first. Serum Absolute, Repair Absolute and Line-Minimizing are different formulas.
  2. Then the number. The same shade name can carry a different number in a different product. Classic Tan, for example, is 141 in Repair Absolute and 157 in Serum Absolute.

Please don't assume a shade in one Visible Lift product equals the same name in another. If you're unsure, our 365-day return policy gives you time to check the match at home.

Is Serum Absolute the same as the old Visible Lift?

No. It's a different product with its own formula. L'Oreal describes Serum Absolute as a radiant-finish, medium-coverage foundation with SPF 17.[1] Repair Absolute was labeled "Pro-Retinola + Hyaluronic + Pro-Lastyl" with SPF 16.

Some long-time customers say the feel isn't the same. One wrote back in 2019 that Serum Absolute wasn't "as much smoothing" as the version before it.[6] That's one person's experience, not a lab test, but it's why many of you would rather stay with the product you know.

Is older foundation still OK to use?

The FDA says how long makeup stays good depends on the product, how it's used and how it's stored, and that aging products can change in color, texture and smell. Foundations with SPF are regulated as drugs, so they must carry an expiration date on the label. Check that date before you wear one.[7] Sealed products haven't been opened or exposed to air, which is why we sell only sealed stock. Once you open a bottle, check it before each use, and stop if it has separated in a way that won't mix back or smells off.

Thinking about switching?

When one shopper asked L'Oreal's chat assistant for a replacement, it suggested True Match. Reactions online have been mixed.[5] If your Visible Lift shade is still available, here or as Serum Absolute from L'Oreal, sticking with it is the surest bet. If you do try something new, test it on your jawline in daylight before you commit.
