Is Maybelline Color Sensational Discontinued? How the Range Changed
The Color Sensational name isn't discontinued in the US, but the range has changed, and many classic shades are no longer listed on maybelline.com. As of October 23, 2026, maybelline.com sells Color Sensational as five products: The Creams, The Mattes, Ultimatte Slim, Made For All, and the Shaping Lip Liner.[1] Most older shades, including Make Me Pink, Pink Satin, Coral Desire and Red Haute, don't appear on Maybelline's current US product pages. Plum Paradise is one classic that's still listed, in The Creams.[2] Maybelline Japan separately ended its Color Sensational Lipstick in August 2020.[4] We carry authentic, sealed stock of many original shades.
What Maybelline sells under Color Sensational today
- The Creams: a cream-finish lipstick, 22 shades on maybelline.com[2]
- The Mattes: matte finish[3]
- Ultimatte Slim: a slim matte lipstick[3]
- Made For All: 6 shades[3]
- Shaping Lip Liner[1]
Classic shades no longer listed on maybelline.com
We compared every Color Sensational shade we carry against Maybelline's current shade lists for The Creams, The Mattes, Ultimatte Slim and Made For All. Only one, Plum Paradise, still appears.[2][3] The rest aren't listed on maybelline.com as of October 23, 2026.
That doesn't always mean Maybelline has formally retired a shade. Maybelline doesn't publish a list of discontinued US shades. It does mean you're unlikely to find those shades new at the drugstore.
Why you see "discontinued" online
Two things muddy the answer:
- The Japan notice. Maybelline Japan's FAQ says Color Sensational Lipstick sales ended in August 2020, and a separate notice says the Inti-Matte collection ended in October 2020.[4] Those notices cover Maybelline Japan's range, not the US.
- Older names. Many retail listings still use the name "Color Sensational Lipcolor".[6] Searching for that name brings up older listings from many different sellers.
How the range changed
Maybelline now organizes Color Sensational by finish: cream (The Creams), matte (The Mattes and Ultimatte Slim) and a smaller shade set (Made For All).[1] Maybelline hasn't named a direct replacement for any retired shade, so we won't guess one. If your shade is no longer listed, the most reliable match is the original lipstick.

Limited Edition
Missing your shade? Some favorites, like Fruit Punch, Hot Plum and Pinkalicious, are sold out right now. Use Request this shade on the product page. We'll check our shelves and suppliers, then email you. We can't promise to find every shade.
Tip: two different shades both carry the number 120 (Citrus Slice and Pink Satin). Go by the shade name and the number together.
Is an old lipstick OK to wear?
Cosmetics don't have one set expiration date. The FDA notes that as products age, they can change in color, texture and smell.[5] Our lipsticks are sealed and unused. After you open one, check it before wearing.
